Sometimes internet does more harm than it helps

I am a 33 y/o male (6 ft 2 in) and I am currently overweight, for a long time I have been dreaming of reducing my body fat and even when I do not eat particularly awfull, the sedentary life is affecting me hard, I am right now at about 220 pounds and my aim is to be st a healthier 185ish.

The thing is that in my prep to get into a gym I find that most advices recommended some trining that I despice. There is nothing I hate more in life than doing freaking burpees and planks tbh. I was looking at any way to do mainly cardio and some weight with a really positive outcome but ended up frustrated by the lack of options on this. On monday I am starting in the gym and I just can't see myself paying to do excercises I could do st home but that I honestly despice.

So, my question is. If I do strictly cardio and some weights to burn localized upper body fat is good enough to see a noticeable change in 6 months?
