So I want to know who's got time to walk 10,000 steps a day, or even 6000-8000 steps, because I sure don't, and I don't exactly have a busy life.
For context, I work 40 hours (occasionally 50 but not for awhile) but it's in 4 days. So my work alone is 10 hours, factor in a 30 minute lunch, then the 45 minute commute each way, and I'm at 12 hours out of the house 4 or 5 days a week. I try very hard to sleep for 7-8 hours, so that leaves, at maximum, 5 hours free per day. I use some of that time in the morning. I need minimum one hour to shower, blowdry, and dress for the day, one hour for coffee and breakfast, and then when I get home at night I have to decompress a little, eat something quick, and prep my lunch for the next day. So if I'm lucky that leaves me ONE HOUR that I can use to walk or workout. And if I have any little errands to run, that hour gets eaten up with those chores.
I could potentially spend my lunch break or my 15 minute paid breaks at work walking, but there's really not a good place to do it other than the parking lot and frankly I feel like I'd be risking my life the way people drive there, plus, if I don't spend that time having light snacks I end up binging at night because I've basically starved for 12 hours while working a job that's semi-physical. My job doesn't exactly allow for us to get up from our desks to walk around (we're performance driven and have specific goals to meet related to our work speed) and frankly on the weekends I'm so tired I barely want to move but I try to do 30 minutes of some kind of exercise every day except when there just isn't any time.
So for those of you fitting in 10,000 steps a day, where do you find the time?
