Frustrated with "How Do I Spot Reduce" (rant)

I lost 100+ pounds a year ago.

I'm in some fitness circles, and a few groups specifically for people of short stature. 27/m/SW:230/CW:142/GW:115/5'0

Every day I'm asked "how do I lose just belly fat? That's all that matters to me."

And then they're devastated when I answer that spot reduction doesn't work, and that you have to decrease calorie intake. I hula hoop for 1 hour and 30 minutes a day, but that's just building strength in my core, burning calories, and giving me something to do instead of eat out of boredom. I work out almost daily. But, weight loss is mostly diet and barely exercise.

I know it's not the answer they want to hear, but I'm not going to BS them about changing my entire lifestyle. But it's asked.... every time anyone asks me about my weight loss. It's definitely the most common question asked in a majority of groups. If people would scroll a little, they'd see the same copy-paste answer every time, but people seem to disbelieve it or be in denial of this. The answer doesn't change just because you ask it.
