Re-losing - what is more important?

I am up from my lowest weight about 30lbs, which has been a hard reality to face. I definitely have put on muscle, but I am finding it harder this time to stay in a calorie deficit because I have more muscle now. My question is, do you think it is better to workout in the gym less and stay more consistent with my calories than force myself to the gym to potentially eat more? I notice when I workout after work I end up eating way more after than I would’ve. I have a good amount of muscle and just looking to shed about 20lbs of fat. I also walk on average 10k steps. I got a BMR scan and it said my calorie base is 1596 without excercise. When I dropped 30 lbs over covid I was eating around 1500-1600. Right now I am aiming for 1700. what do you think?
