Is Weight Training sustainable for losing weight??

Hey guys! For context! I’m a 5’9 21 year old female trying to lose weight! I’m pretty overweight (over 60 pounds) and despite the fact that I want to lose weight I also want to gain muscle! I always hear around the internet that gaining muscle while losing weight is impossible and I should prioritize that instead and then gain muscle when I’m where I want to be! Idk what to do!! Should I lose weight first and mainly do cardio the later on do weight lifting? I also hear advice that weight lifting helps with metabolism but yeah! Any advice and tips of what some of you guys have done would really help me to figure out all this mumbo jumbo haha!! Thanks 🙏🏽
