Getting pregnant during the journey

Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster. I am 33F and just finally seeing progress in my measurements from my efforts. I’m so excited because it’s the first time in months I’ve been able to make anything happen due to a bad medicine (heyo 20lb gain in 2 months) and inconsistent tracking.

But finally I have movement!! It isnt all in vain!

We want to have a 2nd child (our boy is 4 in May) but I am really scared. I gained 50lbs in my last pregnancy and only lost 11 from birth/breastfeeding. The rest I’ve been working hard to shrink. I was already at my highest when I conceived and I’m afraid of starting another pregnancy at an even higher weight. I had a traumatic birth experience because my placenta broke down early due to obesity last time, how much worse might it be this time?

So… I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for here but maybe just some encouragement from other plus size moms or people who have gotten pregnant while trying to beat obesity.

I’ve been working so hard to get myself a higher step goal, little by little over the course of 2023. I went from 3k per day to 5.5k and am on my way to 6.5k average. I get to the gym for strength training 1-2x/week and do home exercise 1-2x/week. Yoga daily. I kicked artificial sugars, soda, processed snacks, and acquired tastes for healthy foods like salmon, tempeh, many vegetables. I know I can carry these Non Scale Health victories into pregnancy…. But how long will it take to gain my momentum back amidst the trauma of pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding?

Thanks for letting this space exist ❤️🙏
