Being fit means being capable.

My son’s elementary school had a skating party the other night. I was roller skating holding hands with my son who was also holding my husband’s hand. As we passed the opening in the rink wall, I got barreled in to by a flailing and falling 3rd grader. He hit my hip just as a little girl slid toward me on the floor skates first. I managed to let go of my son’s hand without pulling him down, stepped over the sliding girl, and even managed to catch the kid she did hit with her skate before he could fall. It was something out of a freaking cartoon, and I did it. I was physically capable of pulling that off. If that happened to the me 50 pounds ago, children would have been freaking crushed. Actually, the me 50 pounds ago never would have been out there skating at all. Being fit means being capable of living my best life.
