Almost To My Goal Weight, And I'm Going To Take It Easier From Here

Keyword: Easier.

I have about 5 lbs. left to lose (23F/5'6'') until I get to my goal weight of 130 lbs. I was doing fairly well, losing about a pound a week, since the beginning of January. My goal was to get to my goal weight by March. Unfortunately, due to matters in my personal life, health, and work, I've plateaued. I've been eating at maintenance and still regularly attend the gym (and pushing myself a little too hard) in order to not gain any more weight, but stressing out about how I really should be eating a 1200-1300 calories a day and that I have to accomplish my goal weight by March have been exhausting.

So, while I was laying in bed, anxiety and stress eating at my stomach, I realized, "Wait...it's only five more pounds. You can get it done in just another 4-5 weeks, but look at yourself. You're already stressed and tired enough from the crap going on in your life. Why make this a major stressor, too? Is it worth it?"

I would really like it if I could hit 130 lbs. by March, but I've been so obsessed with counting calories, overdoing it at the gym to the point where my lower back has been aching (and not in the "pleasantly sore" way), and feeling super crappy for not making as much progress as I would like these past two weeks. I knew that I couldn't give up, not when I was so close, but I had to somehow stop making myself completely miserable.

So, I decided, instead of eating 1200-1300 calories a day, I'll eat 1400-1500. I'll continue going to the gym and not overdo it to compensate for eating more calories. I'll still be losing weight, just at a slower rate. And if I don't make it by March...well, worst case scenario, I'll just push the date to April. And that is completely okay. It's only five more pounds, after all. It's not worth stressing out about to the point of obsession and exhaustion.
