tl;dr i’ve hit a plateau and want to reignite that motivation and drive to lose weight, please share any advice you have for kickstarting again after a plateau.
I’ve lost 40 lbs but have stayed the same for the past two months. i have about 50 lbs to go, ive never lost so much weight before so this feeling of plateauing is new to me. i’m a mix between “well i’ve already lost so much” so i don’t feel that urgency anymore that helped me so much, and the conflicting feeling of a lot of shame and regret about wasting two months of my time.
obviously the logical process is to say “well, those two months have passed. now it’s time to just continue on because time will continue to pass anyways”, and i’ve been telling myself that but i still don’t have that drive, i just feel shame which obviously is a terrible emotion to try to lose weight with. is this an inevitable psychological process with weight loss that everyone goes through?
i’m just looking for some advice from those who’ve been in the same boat and have had the same self-sabotaging feeling. something that has helped you or words of encouragement. thank you
