I’m looking for RMR testing near Rochester, NY.
Between thyroid issues and a history of chronic dieting and unhealthily paced weight loss, I suspect that my metabolic rate is out of whack. I was speaking about this with a dietitian who offered that RMR “resting metabolic rate” testing would be the best estimate. Im also open to hearing how others got more accurate information about their metabolic rate.
The last time I tracked vigilantly, weighed everything, etc I was gaining weight on what the online height/weight calculators said should be my basal metabolic rate, and I was exercising about an hour a day at the time. So something was wonky. Adjusting my thyroid meds helped.
I’m not too far from Rochester, NY and google keeps giving me options down in Pennsylvania or NYC several hours of driving away. The university of Rochester medical system appears to have once offered RMR testing, but the associated number is dead and no one in the department it was done under seems to be able to give direction.
Does anyone else in upstate, central, or western NY have recommendations on where to get RMR testing?
