Getting rid of clothes?

Alright, I’ve lost over 60 pounds, which was about 25% of my starting body weight. I’m still in the overweight BMI category, and I have 30 pounds to go to reach my goal, but I’m down 4 pant sizes and none of my clothes fit me anymore. I also had a tendency to buy clothes that were baggy on me even at my largest weight, so those are literally unwearable right now.

I’ve been gradually getting rid of some of my bigger clothes and replacing them with temporary pieces in smaller sizes that I’m finding second-hand. But I’m finally at the point where I can’t wear ANY of my old clothes and the “new” clothes are getting too big as well. I spent some time today saving a few tshirts that I can cut or modify, some that I can wear to bed and exercise in, etc., but I’ve bagged up a majority of my clothes to donate. Now I’m having a lot of doubts and I feel like I shouldn’t get rid of anything. I suppose that’s why I’m posting here.

Has anyone else had experience with this? What do you do when your clothes are ridiculously big but you feel like you still need to keep them just in case? I think part of me is also in disbelief of my new size, so it feels wasteful to get rid of clothes that, in my head, still fit. I guess maybe I’m just looking for some people who can relate or who have gotten rid of their old clothes and didn’t regret it. I feel like I need permission to purge!
