I'll go first: "Why don't you eat whatever you want today? You can start again tomorrow, you know; one day won't undo your progress."
My reply to that intrusive thought is "well, if I don't have a reason to binge now, and yet I do it anyway, nothing'll stop me from repeating it again over and over.
I think this kind of thought exercise is important because a person can quit whatever bad habits they have (i.e. binging, bored eating, snacking, etc), but if they don't change the underlying thought patterns that led them to those bad habits in the first place, they'll always be vulnerable to lapsing back into them..
So, what are some of the responses that you guys give to the intrusive thoughts that throw you off-course of your eating and weight management plans?
