I despise working out.
I've done all the hacks such as: only watch shows while I'm on the row machine, get a dog etc.
One of the ways I actually have managed to stay thin is kind of stick to work outs that aren't really work outs at all. I've just done the things I love over my life but as I'm getting older I think It's not quite enough anymore. I think I'm going to start to need more focused specific exercise and I just don't like it.
I love kayaking, hiking, skiing, ice skating, ballet. I also have the privilege of traveling a lot and we walk miles and miles and miles when we visit larger cities.
But these things aren't quite enough. The ice skating rink is only open skate once a week. Skiing used to be a day trip and now it requires a 3-day weekend. And obviously that's only in winter. Kayaking is obviously only in the summer and I'm not that great of a swimmer so I can't go alone. My ballet classes are generally only once a week and sometimes they don't run in the summer because it's more of a casual adult beginner thing. Doesn't even go past beginner for adults, really. Hiking requires more time than I have during the weekdays.
Especially as I get older, cobbling together physical activities isn't working to keep weight off.
So, let me hear your success stories in this vein, or tell me I have to suck it up and "exercise" more traditionally.
