I wanted to share an observation I made during my yearly "cut" of about 5kg(10 lbs) before summer:
During the first few weeks I occasionally give in to indulging to a big dessert after dinner rather than pursuing my goal physique, and I think that on days that I give in, it is not so much because I really miss the taste of the dessert, or enjoy the mellow feeling afterwards, but simply because when I overeat, I no longer have to fight that mental battle anymore.
Once you have given in, it has already happened and you don't need to mentally exhaust yourself by going over all the pro's and con's.
The good news is, for me at least, that after a couple of weeks of grinding it out, that becomes the new normal and you no longer have to fight that mental battle anymore.
