5’8” woman, 138lbs. Down from 150 earlier this fall. I’ve been making great progress towards my goal (125) by eating less and doing HIIT workouts, but I am also a marathon runner, and every time I train for a marathon I gain weight. If I eat the way I do now, when I’m dieting, I feel like I’m dying on long runs. To have the energy to complete them within my time goals, I eat a ton before and when I’m done, I am always tempted to give in to what feels like insatiable hunger. You don’t burn many calories from running, and it takes so long that I rarely have time to supplement with more efficient exercise. I’m about to start training for another race and I have an ambitious time goal. Does anyone have tips on how to continue losing weight while marathon training without sacrificing performance?
