Mindful ish eating

I used to practise mindful eating years ago and it worked well for me but over the past 4 years life changed, work was busy, I am getting older and sadly most of my meals ended being either eaten in front of the TV or even in bed (yes I know)

A couple weeks ago I decided no more! I cleaned off my kitchen table (no more clutter) and made it a point to only eat there, even snacks. At first it was hard, sometimes I would forget and find myself having breakfast in front of the TV.

I think the hardest change was focusing strictly on my food, no phone, no book, no newspaper etc just me and my meal.

I have found I can easily stick to my daily calorie goal by doing this. I feel full longer, I read that this is because your brain is actually seeing how much you have eaten. When we eat in front of the TV we aren’t focused on the food.

It’s been really good for me and I would recommend giving it a go if it works for your situation.
