Probably from dieting for 30 years... but when I go on a diet... my body adapts pretty quickly... with eating less food and also increasing exercise. My body adapts quickly. And it gets hard to lose.
My TDEE is naturally low anyway but then when I start dieting ... my body adapts and my metabolism reduces drastically so that... if I go back to eating a normal amount - 1500 cals - I gain rapidly.
Last diet I lost 40 lbs and got stuck, so then I started eating more... very carefuly... and gained it all back. I gained 20 lbs in a matter of weeks and then it took a year to gain the rest. Even trying very hard not to over do it. Increasing exercise and fasting and just trying to keep calories around 1500 cals.
