People are going to be offended by you losing weight. Don’t believe me? Try not eating at an event.

If there’s one thing I’ve noticed about losing weight (currently down 63 pounds in the last 5 months), whenever there’s a bigger event and a dozen or more people show up, they try to force a ton of food down your throat. In this scenario, it somehow becomes rude to politely decline. But here’s the thing. In true friendship, you look out for your friend’s best interests.

If you’re trying to lose weight and someone gets mad at you for not eating cake, or over indulging like they are, they’re saying their feelings about eating are more important than your health. But that’s okay, because I wasn’t put on this earth to validate people’s feelings about how they cook. I get weird looks all the time when people are gorging themselves on massive amounts of food and I’m sitting there having maybe half a plate.

If you’re going through this with your family/friends, you’re not alone. Be strong and put your health before anything.
