Does anxiety go away as the pounds go away?

The title pretty much sums it up, but I have question for those of you with experience... does anxiety go away as you lose weight? I’m down 23 pounds and I feel like I feel a little bit of an improvement in my generalized anxiety (which was at its worst around October of last year) but I’m not sure if it’s my weight and healthier eating/exercise, or what.

I don’t have any specific anxieties or fears, just general nervousness and heart palpitations and things like that. Everyone who is/was as heavy as I am knows how terrifying every little bodily ache and pain is.

Any personal experience/medical evidence would be much appreciated! It would be amazing if another perk to losing these pounds would be losing my anxiety along with them.

If it’s important for anyone to know: I’m 24, F, 5’2, and 295lbs.
