I have been stuck on 80 to 81kgs for nearly 4 months. I tried all kinds of things. And then I decided to stop ๐Ÿ›‘

After starting my journey at 85kgs in April in 2018 (longer history before that) I managed to slowly lose 4 kilograms over 2018 to Jan this year when nothing I did would move it. Got stuck till March on 80/81.5 Been going through a really rough time in March, lost 3 people, layoffs at work, old lovely friendships painfully dying, struggling financially at the business, got broken into and everything stolen. So I couldn’t spend the time I wanted on CICO and my beloved walking... with so much on my plate something had to go. So I decided to just pause dieting and measuring everything and to just stop weighing as well and instead to dig deep into my self-healing around my body to just try keep my head together. I didn’t stand on the scale or track my food. But I became conscious of what I was eating while not depriving myself of anything I just made the best choices I could and only ate when I was hungry. Well I’m pleased to say the one thing I kept going was positive self talk to myself, looking at my body naked and telling myself I’m ok in fact I’ve got something special and treasured. And I guess I ate to look after it,

Yesterday morning I got on the scale as I’m feeling ready to get back on the journey - I weighed in at 79.2! I had crossed that elusive line and didn’t know it. I’m now 4 kgs from starting to look really healthy and good and 9 kgs from being slim. But most importantly I feel better about my body now than most of my life. Biggest lesson has been taken the time to do it and leaving crash diets behind. I decided to not pressure the loss as I had 15 kgs in total to lose to get to goal weight- that’s a lot and it’s hard. I’m feeling really good.
