I [22F] currently weigh 131 and am 5'1. Before starting, my maintenance calories were around 2,000. I had gained weight during an internship in Summer 2018 (sat all day and ate out more), with my highest weight being 137. My goal is to get down to my weight before the internship, which was 126. People don't see any difference in my appearance and all my clothes fit the same, but I want to lose it for personal reasons. My plan is to eat 1500 a day, which will allow me to lose 1 pound a week.
Before my internship, I had eaten 2000 a day as well (I had weighed, measured, and tracked all food in excel ad my weekly average was usually between 1860 and 2140) and maintained. During my internship, I had started eating around 2400 a day, which caused me to gain weight. After it was over, I started tracking again and got my daily average down to 2000, but I was not losing any weight, which is why I am doing a deficit.
My question is - how should I calculate my new maintenance calories?
I am kind of confused since if I went back to eating 2000 from 2400, I should have lost the weight I gained. So if 2000 is my maintenance at 135, how should I calculate my maintenance at 126?
Edit: i am currently doing my deficit. My wording sounds like I have not started.
