Where to even start

So, I’m 39 (M). Have struggled with my weight my entire life but got into a toxic relationship a long time ago and it spiralled. I’m currently 24st 1.5lbs (~335lbs for you imperialists) and stand at 5’8”. That relationship ended around 7/8 years ago and I have tried everything to try and get to a healthy weight (hypnosis, Total Food Replacement diets, diet clubs and just staying away from the table, really).

Cut to last night and I’m leaving my job for a new position and my team decides to go to dinner to celebrate. So off I trot to the nearest bus stop, which I about 500m from my house and I was facing a 1.5km walk off the bus to get to the restaurant. About halfway to the bus stop I had to turn around and go back home and get a taxi. I just wasn’t able for it. I was puffing and panting and flushed in the face from the serious amount of effort I had to put in use to get a bus. Now, bear in mind that I was walking at a relative snails pace and I was still in this kinda trouble!? That’s just the tip of the iceberg, I have many stories like this.

So I know now that it’s my fitness that needs to start first, but where does one even start when attempting to start on a fitness journey. I mean, just to get to a healthy bmi I need to lose, basically exactly half of my body weight. How does somebody even mentally face into that?
