(Not a native english speaker, sorry in case there are some mistakes)
My husband went to the doctor today morning in order to have a stress test on an ergometer (exercise ECG). He reached around 83%.
Doctor: You have to train.
Husband: Oh, I've started to go to the gym a month ago.
Doctor: If you have a gym membership, you need to actually go there.
Husband: I go to the gym 3 times a week.
Doctor: Whatever.
Husband: ???
Doctor: You might be motivated at the beginning, but that will fade anyway. You'll give up soon.
Husband left and was pretty disappointed. He didn't expect a lot from his doctor, but a "Good!" or "Great, keep it up!" would be a lot more appropriate instead of "You'll give up soon". However, he is even more motivated to lose weight now. Not everyone supports us during our weightloss journey, but we won't give up!
