Story Time - Sorry for the length!
Around 6th grade - ya boi started getting a little hefty. It didn't really become a problem until about sophomore year of high school where I weighed almost 300 pounds as a 15 year old. My parents recognized that this was not ok and made me drop weight. I dropped and kept off about 50 pounds through the rest of high school - however when college started I decided I could do what I want and ballooned up to 370! 2 years ago, I realized my parents were trying to help - and decided to make a change.
My progress initially wasn't intended to go this far - I lost the first 30ish pounds by just switching to only water (I was drinking at least 6-8 Sodas/Gatorade/Powerades a day). After I saw the numbers on the scale go down, my pants get a little loose I thought it would be interesting to see where I could take this.
Instead of trying to jump to how I felt I needed to eat to get to my goal - I instead decided to go slow - basically I weighed 340 when I started changing my diet, I started eating how I thought a 310 pound person would weigh. Then 280. Then 250.
After about a year I ended up hitting 265 and my first real challenge and roadblock. I got a very large promotion and since I'd been dieting for about 8 months I wanted to treat myself and held back on the diet. Now before hand dieting was fairly easy for me - I didn't make all that much so I couldn't afford all that much. But then my salary increased by over 200%... So I got quite carried away and was eating pretty poorly for about 4 months. I hadn't noticed much of a difference - but when I stepped on the scale I had gone back up to 285. So as I was moving into my own place - I decided that was a great time to start back on it. That was Feb of last year (2/18) and I haven't looked back since.
Diet consisted of just logging everything - I mean EVERYTHING - on myfitnesspal, initially I was at about 2000 kCals a day, lowering whenever I would plateau, eventually ending at 1200 kCals a day this past week. Nothing special regarding Macros besides ensuring I got in at least 150g of protein.
Training was initially just pure cardio - exercise bike every day for 45min so I didn't destroy my knees (Tried swimming but about 5 minutes after I would get out of the pool, no matter how long I was in - I would vomit) Beginning of September I began lifting - starting with a 3 day 5/3/1 program for 3 months. After the 3 months when I got a baseline and used to using all the equipment I swapped to a 6 day PPL Split - going Pull/Push/Legs order. I have done this since the Beginning of December. For the last 2 months I added in fasted cardio in the afternoons when I woke up and then did my lifting in the morning after work (I work nights, so sleeping during the day).
As for the extra skin - there is a decent amount around my stomach - however the most is probably around my butt/thighs as I had them T H I C C anime thighs. I'm going to wait about 6 months to see how much it tightens up - should it not change a significant amount I'll start seriously considering surgery - I am still young af and I'm not short on money and I feel it would be a huge confidence boost for me. And I really want to be able to get that shredded look.
Sorry this was much longer than intended - if anyone has any questions feel free - I'm an open book so nothing is really off limits.
