I [21F] Don’t See a Difference After 15 lbs Lost

Hey all, so A) this is my first time ever posting on Reddit and B) I’m in mobile so it may look horrible. But:

In December I was gifted a Fitbit from my mother and it seemed like a good time to start losing weight and getting healthy. I weighed myself and I was at 160. Well, procrastination got the best of me and I kept with the same sedentary habits as my entire youth. I was always self conscious about my body but never did anything about it. I wasn’t “fat” but I wasn’t a normal size either.

Flash forward to February, right around Valentine’s Day. I weighed myself and I was at 171 lbs. I had gained 11 pounds and my some of my clothes didn’t fit anymore. I took this as a wake up call. I started tracking my calories and started working out for 20 minutes, 3 times a week. I weighed myself again today and I am at 157. That’s practically 15 lbs. It surprised me because I feel exactly the same size. As when I was at my heaviest. It got me down because I see people who look totally different after losing the same amount.

I’m 21, 5’6, and feel so disappointed when I look in the mirror, even after some progress.

Is this normal?

TL;DR: lost 15 lbs in a month and I look exactly the same. Feel like shit.
