Gaining an losing weight is like watching grass grow

What do you do to stay motivated?

Back in July of 2018 I was at the heaviest I've ever been 5'9" 216 lbs). Oddly, when I think back to that time and compared it to my lightest (160 lb), I never felt that I looked that much different. Pictures definitely say otherwise. The point is when I was gaining weight it was much like boiling a frog alive - slowly turning up the heat so the frog doesn't notice until it's too late.

I also feel like the reverse is true. Back in July I started to really get into exercising, and although I was feeling better, I didn't budge much on my weight. It really wasn't until I cut out all booze that I started to shed some pounds. I cut all booze at the end of December and I've lost 10-15 lbs since

I know if I keep on keeping on I'll lose some more, but boy is it a slow process. I just want to fast forward until the end of summer to see where I'm at.

So this brings me to my question again. What do you do to stay motivated? I think I really need some short term goals to strive for that are not directly related to weightloss. That way I can feel the satisfaction of victory every now and again where the cummulative victories will bring me to sub 180 lbs.

Any thoughts?
