Happy Monday everybody.
So, last week wasn't my best week. I recently decided to try working out 3 days a week instead of 5 because I really only do one type of exercise and was wondering if I wasn't giving my body enough recuperation time. Then last week I skipped a day for no real reason. At first I figured that I could make it up one of the other days, but didn't. On the scale I had slowly been trending upwards during last week, which admittedly is pretty normal for me. At the start of the weekend the combination of being up on the scale and missing a day of exercise had me not feeling super about myself. Over the course of the weekend I got back down to around the weight from the previous weekend (I tend to eat less on weekends), and then this morning, after getting ready for work, I put on some new work pants that I had bought last week. (Most of my old pants are way too big now)
Let me tell you: putting on those pants that are 8 inches smaller in the waist and having them fit well was a HUGE uplift. I had been feeling kind of dumpy all weekend, and then Monday morning, BAM, in a matter of seconds from pulling on my new pants and doing up my new belt I looked at myself in the mirror and thought: 'Damn, I've come a long way. That stuff from last week isn't that big of a deal. Today starts a new week, and I will do my best this week.'
I just thought I would share this on here to let anybody else who might've had a bad day or week know that the same applies to them. That was yesterday/last whenever, there isn't anything you can do about it now other than do you best going forward.
As an aside; I think I'm going to go back to working out 5 days a week and just do a little smaller workout some of those days. It is much easier to maintain the habit of working out if you do it more days than not I guess.
Thanks for reading everybody.
