Do macros matter?

Stats: 24F/148lbs/5’5”

I currently eat about 1200 calories per day. I want to lose about 20lbs. I don’t pay a lot of attention to my macros, but I feel like I should. I think I might be eating too many carbs and too little protein. I average around 125g of carbs, 58g of protein, and 51g of fat per day. I’m by no means trying to eat low carb. I love fruit way too much for that. I have checked out the tdeecalculator website to try to figure out my macros. For cutting & moderate carbs it suggests 106g of carbs, 91g of protein, and 47g of fat per day. I can’t imagine eating so much protein. I wouldn’t even know what foods to eat to consume that much protein. I don’t eat much meat to begin with.

Should I even be worrying about my macros if I’m eating at a deficit and losing weight? What do you suggest is the best way to figure out macros? Are the macros I eat currently okay? Any advice helps.
