NSV- I finally finished Couch to 5k!!!

I’ve been lurker if this sub for some time now.

Throughout my life, I’ve always been a bigger guy. I played football from about the age of 11 through college. During that period of my life, it was totally acceptable, and basically necessary, to be bigger.

When my career finished in 2014, I always told myself that I would shift my focus to losing weight. Unfortunately, that never happened. Over the last almost 5 years, I’ve struggled to develop a consistent gym routine and my eating habits have never really improved.

In October 2018, I decided I needed to do something different. Through my work insurance, I joined a local gym. The only problem was, like all the other times, I didn’t know where to start. After following this sub for some time, completing Couch to 5k seemed like a good goal to begin with.

For the past 4 months, I worked through the workouts. And by no means was it perfect, there was a period of time where I didn’t go to the gym for a few weeks so I ended up going back to redo workouts to make sure I was in the right track.

And now this morning I finally completed my last workout! As cheesy as it sounds, I got to my car and started to tear up. I reflected on the last four months and it really hit me that this was the first fitness related goal that I had completed in years.

I’m not sure what goal is next but dammit I’m so happy today! Sorry for the long post but thank you to this great sub for helping to direct me in the right direction!!
