A shock while shopping.

It's a lovely day today, so I decided to walk to the shop to pick up a few things. I grabbed some groceries, slung them in a tote bag on my back and set off home. Unfortunately I very quickly realised that the weather was MUCH hotter than I'd thought, and that I'd bought too much stuff to carry comfortably. I was boiling, sweating, and tired.

Now, I've lost about 55 lbs since July. While I was walking, I thought: wow, I bet this bag is equal to a huge chunk of the weight I've lost! This must be how I felt carrying all those extra pounds around before! I decided to weigh the bag when I got home and find out.

So when I got home I did just that. And how much did the bag weigh?

10 pounds.

Before I lost the weight, I was carrying more than FIVE times the weight of that shopping around me with me ALL THE TIME. I couldn't believe it. No wonder I was so tired constantly! I guess I also discovered that I still can't carry 10lbs on my back for a couple of miles in the heat without getting uncomfortable, but oh well! Anyway, just thought I'd share something that was a real eye-opener for me! I credit this sub and your inspirational posts with helping me shed the weight (though I still have a good 25 lbs to go, and evidently some strength to build!) so thanks guys!
