What *should* have been a wake-up call for you, but wasn't?

I was watching My 600lb Life (a guilty pleasure), and thinking about how some really extreme things are just accepted as 'normal' by the patients on there. Not being able to clean yourself, not fitting through doorframes, and eventually not being able to get out of bed.

It made me reflect on my own weight gain and I was thinking - if someone watched my life, what 'wake-up call' would they be shocked that I missed and normalised?

This is what I came up with:

  • When I broke a chair (it was damaged before, right? Plus super rickety...)

  • When I spent $200 in a week on fast food and my bank called me (I was stressed!)

  • When I popped a button of a really cute jacket (it looked better unbuttoned anyway, surely they were just for show...)

I can't be alone in these kind of reflections!

What did y'all miss, that looking back on should have been a turning point for you?
