It's been a loooonnnggggg month for me, as I have started a diet alone without a support group or the involvement of my family, who I'm still cooking the usual foods for. I started my diet a few days before New Year. It felt like torture to begin with. I had been in denial about how much crap I was eating. The first week was hard!
I have PCOS which has meant that despite eating much less and of course healthier food, and exercising more, the scales are slow at showing results. I'm on 1400 calories a day and ensuring I jog or speed-walk 5-6 miles a day. Sometimes not seeing the scales move has been really disheartening - I plateau'd for 10 days just a few weeks in.
But this morning, just 34 days after the last one, I got my period! I normally go 8-12 weeks without a period, so I'm really happy about that, and it shows me that despite what the scales say, my hormones are liking the new way I am treating my body and therefore I should keep it up!
Just wanted to share :)
