I always thought that having IBS was normal. That when I went to the bathroom it was always supposed to be painful or just one of those frequent but bi-weekly constipated days. Or throughout the day I was supposed to feel cramped for no reason. It's been a month since I switched lifestyles and it's been a blessing. Not only have I lost 5 lbs so far, but I have normal poops! Like I don't have to wait upwards of 15 minutes, it's now down to a minute on average (holy @#!&)
It's very hard though. Being vegetarian doesn't mean I will eat nothing, I'm just not eating meat. I can still drink milk and eat eggs and cheese, but it doesn't mean I'll go the extra step to make stuff into things I loved the most. I'm eating the fruits and veggies how they are and cooking them by introducing flavors to flavors. I'm not trying to mash things into a makeshift burger :P I guess the biggest disappointment was learning this too late. My doctor recommended I eat less and wanted to prescribe medication. I ended up taking things into my own hands and while CBD oil did work, it wasn't a proper or a permanent solution.
Also the biggest takeaway is that I love things I didn't like as a child! Like cherry tomatoes and pears. I recently tried onion again and it's not entirely that bad! These fruits, veggies, roots, and grains are all flavorful by themselves. I f*!$ing love being a vegetarian.
