Over the past year and a half, I'd lost over 40lb doing a combination of simple calorie counting (FP), keto, and IF with exercise 3-5 days a week at the gym. I was not even near where I wanted to be but I'd gone from 250 to 210. It was kind of hard because my wife has always been naturally thin so my dietary restictions were always inconvenient because we usually we're eating two separate dinners. Either way, I was making it work and feeling great. Then I plateaued... hard. For 3 months. I would hover between 210-215. I recalculated my tdee to make sure my goals reflected my current weight and tried more/longer/skipping IF runs to break it but nothing worked. Then, in February, my wife and I learned we were expecting our first child!
Obviously very happy, but long-story-short, he's now 6 weeks old, I've gained 22 lb and am so tired that I'm showing no signs of slowing down. I can't work out at the gym anymore because when I get off work I'm needed at home to give my wife a break, and even when I have the free time at home I'm too tired to work out or care at all about what I'm eating. I'm just trying to eliminate the feeling of hinged as fast as I can so I can focus on him or try to get something done around the house (laundry, watch a little TV, etc).
So, I guess at the very least I need to get back to the basics with my eating habits. So I'm just gonna ask for the r/loseit community to help me out here with some easy meal ideas/tips so I can reset and get back to moving the scale downward instead of up.
Thanks everyone
