I’m having trouble calculating my TDEE and it’s giving me a headache... Math was never my strongest subject anyway. Started at about 150lbs, currently I am 126.6lbs, 20 years old, and 5’5” I’m female-to-male transgender, almost a year on T. I’ve been weight training usually at three days a week and 20 min of cardio 6/7 days a week depending on my energy. I’ve been doing that for about 3 months, trying to keep it up, but work and school will inevitably get in the way. I think it’s made a difference alongside getting to normal testosterone levels.
Originally, I set my TDEE to use female measurements and have been eating at a deficit to lose .5lbs a week. I have been adjusting my TDEE as I lose weight so I started at 1670 and down to 1603. Now, I more often than not, especially on weight training days, I would eat a lot more; typically 1850, very rarely 2000, at the most, because I get that insanely hungry. However according to HappyScale I’m losing anywhere between 1.7 at the highest to 1.3 at the lowest and lost 14.4lbs in 90 days.
Not complaining about that, but if I can eat a bit more and not freak out about numbers it would make my life a little less stressful. And from the data, it seems like I can eat a lot more than I realize, but I don’t want to go overboard because of a mystery number. I think I’m preaching to the choir when I say dieting is difficult. At my highest weight I was 160lbs. A year ago, I got down to 129, but shot back up to 150 when my father passed away. I was desperate to lose weight and did a lot of things that gave me symptoms of an eating disorder. I’m feeling that stress again and frankly can just do without it. I’ve come pretty far and don’t want to mess up again.
I hope this is enough info to make sense. I use MFP and LoseIt, so that along with HappyScale means I got plenty of data to share if I’m lacking.
