Hi,
30ish F with PCOS& Insulin Resistance. Weight has gradually crept up over the years. Long family history of thyroid issues and yet I am always in the normal range but close to hypothyroid. Drs will do nothing. I have seen many endocrinologists. The meds they put me on for IR caused major stomach problems for years and almost required surgery. Insurance will not pay for any other suggested meds.
I have tried a variety of diets: Ediets, Mediterranean, SlimFast, Weight Watchers (a half a dozen times), online tracking. They all yield initial minimal results. My blood sugar tends to border hypoglycemic. I tried an elimination diet (for food allergies I have-fish & shellfish) and actually gained weight.
I am also a teacher and bring home 6-8 hours of work on the weekends in addition to working 12 hours a day most days. A lot of meal prep is not for me.
I am currently trying Nutrisystem in my 2nd month. The minimal prep fits my lifestyle but I am not getting the results I want.
Anyone else with PCOS find something effective where you aren't constantly near collapse from low blood sugar?
