Over the last few days I've been thinking about all of the little things I can do differently -- and did differently -- when I was successful in losing weight.
-
Walking the dogs twice a day instead of just letting them out back (~3500 steps and 40 minutes of walking)
-
Logging all of my food at the beginning of the day and measuring everything with a food scale
-
Weighing myself every day. I know this is controversial but it works for me, so it might work for you. When I weigh myself every day I learn my body's natural ebbs and flows. I found if I only weighed myself once a week that I would often miss my low weight of the week and was discouraged. If that doesn't work for you, that's cool too.
-
Going to the gym doesn't need to be an hour long. My gym is in the same shopping center as my grocery store, so I can pop into the gym for 20-30 minutes of cardio and go about my day.
-
Ordering groceries for pick up greatly cuts down on the likelihood that I'll pick up junk food or snacks. I stick to my shopping list without any of the sales or "ooooh this looks good"
-
Using an activity tracker. They're not 100% accurate but it's a better way of determining my CICO for the day.
