Lost 27 lbs. Mostly during bedrest. Officially not obese anymore.

Hey guys,

So I started my journey at a BMI of 31 approx around April at 101.5 kgs. For the first 3 months I was doing cico properly and doing hard core MMA 4-5 times a week.

Fast forward to first week of July and during MMA I broke 3 ligaments in my knee. I was on bedrest whole of July and barely walked around for August 2 weeks. Surgery for 2 of those ligaments was done on 22nd August and I've been on bedrest since then.

But I've just been maintaining cico at around 400-500 deficit. Been tracking in MFP for the period other than the week of surgery cause I thought medication would interfere.

Fast forward to today, I slated to start walking in a week and I just wore a pair of old shorts and they were Hella loose. Like someone could pull them down my legs loose. So I was like let's check weight and voila, I'm at 29.1 BMI and weigh 89.5 kgs. I was so looking forward to finding out when I become just overweight and not obese that I didn't even realise when it happened.

For now, I'll focus on cico and recovery for leg. And start exercise in a couple of months. But I feel so happy right now.

I especially wanna thank this subreddit. When I found out I was gonna be on bedrest, I was super upset and posted here asking on how to loose weight while on bedrest. I got some amazing advice from all of you here and im so very thankful. Cheerios :)

Tl;dr: Lost 12 kgs. Almost 5 kgs of which was during bedrest of 2 months.
