just joined this sub :-)

i’m 16, female and i was diagnosed w depression a year back. i’ve been slowly recovering but due to no motivation, hypersomnia, increased appetite and the inability to get out of bed i ended up gaining a bit of weight.

as a teen girl my life obviously mostly revolves around looking good lmao. but personally i‘m just more confident when i feel like i look good which eventually makes me look better idk.

as a kid i was chubbier than the rest of my classmates but around 13 i did some blogilates exercises occasionally and puberty made me lose weight so i was happier, more confident etc. but recently i gained weight and people say i look normal but i don’t feel happy. plus the depression and derealization and a low self esteem don’t help it. i tried blogilates’ 28 day reset but my mom who’s a nutritionist told me it wasn’t working for my body bc i became rlly weak. i became a vegan for a few months too but other than making my skin clearer it didn’t help much which made me feel very defeated.

anyway, i’ve started working out now. i did blogilates’ wonder woman workout and felt really happy afterwards too. then i skipped a day and danced a bit. i haven’t got time to exercise much since then due to exams and have taken a 2-3 day break but i’m going to start again tomorrow onwards. my eating is kind of erratic rn but my mom is giving me healthier meals and not letting me order food lol.

i’ve heard exercise is rlly good for mental health and recovering from depression from almost everyone but i blamed my lack of motivation. when i finally did exercise again i felt really happy tho and had motivation to study as well so now i’ll be trying my best to do so.

if anyone has any motivation tips etc. i’d love them.

fingers crossed!! xx
