F/23/5’3 [SW-190>CW-165>GW-145] Hi all! For the last 6 months I have been following a CICO program of 1200 cals/day (S/O to my r/1200isplenty crew!) and CrossFit. I’ve lost 25 lbs thus far, but am now plateauing and therefore losing motivation. I do crossfit 4x/week, and am lifting pretty heavy weights. Well, nearly all of my CrossFit coaches were APPALLED by my daily calorie intake once I made it known to them. Most told me to up it to “at LEAST 1500” in order to allow my body to recover fully, built muscle, and lose fat. I am feeling incredibly conflicted, as eating 1200/day has been the easiest and most effective lifestyle change I’ve ever incorporated- and as someone who formerly struggled with an eating disorder, I need to stick to a program that feels comfortable and healthy. I am hesitant to switch to another calorie goal when this one has been so effective. At this time, I am considering upping calories to 1350/day on training days and sticking to 1200 otherwise. Cutting down on CrossFit is not an option, as it makes me incredibly happy and curbs any depressive tendencies I may have. Any advice from anyone (but especially nutrition professionals) would be so very appreciated.
Thanks for reading, and for the constant inspiration!
