Progress pics! I have never been happy about my body, ever since the teenage days.

After a night of binge drinking (for my birthday in December) and a nasty stupid drunk fall I found myself at the drs stepping on the scale for the first time since god knows when to 207 pounds of me.

I never felt obese or felt that I looked bad. However these things sneak up on you. My husband was concerned with the weight for health reasons. It’s not weight from the baby anymore, she’s five years old now!

That was my first wake up call, however I didn’t start my journey until mid February. After a bout of depression my friends convinced me to join the gym and joined with me.

I started slowly working out and doing things like the elliptical and stair machine also tried different classes till I found some that worked. Power yoga is a freaking beast!!

I always followed progress pics and lose it with such envy. I would actually get pissed at peoples progress because “I just couldn’t do it” I hated seeing people on Facebook showing off their new sizes. I would just sulk every night eating god knows how many calories.

My trainer introduced me to CICO without me even really knowing what the following was. I stayed at about 1500/1700 for two weeks but gave up.

I still continued to work out and really enjoyed the energy and happiness it brought me. (This is not true for everyone! Don’t take me wrong)

In May I found 1500 is plenty and read all the top post, decided In could do this! It doesn’t limit what I eat just how much I eat!!

As of this week I am down 45 lbs and have 12 to go. I went from a US women size 16/14 to a size 10.

This is not a perfect process social events and poor planning lead to bad days. Don’t let it get you down. If you tripped would you just never get back up? No!!

Obsession over calories is real and if you feel going over gives you anxiety take a break or talk to someone about it.

I still struggle daily. My 140lb 6’0” husband doesn’t diet and eats what he wants (he IF without even knowing what it is and eats OMAD very often, that is just how he naturally controls his weight) It’s hard giving up macaroni and spaghetti and watching someone else eat it! I will say he is he most supportive person, ask me all the time how many calories I have left and helps me any way he can. He has given up things too. Without him I couldn’t do it. I do drag him to the gym-but don’t push my lifestyle on him.

When I hit 180 I didn’t think I’d see 175. And then 170s came...I hit the 160s and I couldn’t believe it. I thought it wasn’t possible, however I prove myself wrong each day!

Things that helped me.

  1. No scale at home, I only use the gyms scale to push me to go on bad days.

  2. Clothes shopping gets tedious and expensive however I LOVEEEE looking in the mirror in the dressing room seeing that clothes LOOK GOOD ON ME! My options have grown tremendously!

  3. Don’t keep old jeans, throw out old sizes, don’t save them “just Incase” this is not a phase it’s you’re new lifestyle.

  4. Even tho I have lost 45 lbs I still need to tone, jeans size don’t lie however don’t expect to have a 6 pack because you diet.

  5. Everything in moderation, even moderation, go out enjoy life if you think you won’t binge. Have cheat days or meals don’t feel bad about it.

  6. NSFW: sex omg, it is more fun when you don’t run out of breathe in five minutes!

  7. Setting monthly mini weight loss goals made it seem like a hill instead of a mountain. I set mine for 5 lbs of month,

  8. Don’t buy food you know will tempt you later.

  9. Mental health is just as important as Physical health, talk to someone anyone if you’re struggling, you are not alone, no matter how your brain chemicals make you see it.

Thank you for listening I enjoy and continue to enjoy this sub! I hope this can help some people’s “I cants” into “I dids!”.

Edit: I am the typo queen, and I am on mobile. My next goal after this is to work on typos! :p
