I needed a paradigm shift!

Dear All,

I am 5' 11'' at 320 lb [M] 27 years old. I was over weight most of my adulthood. I have lost weight in collage ( This was back in 2012). I've lost 70 pounds at that time, I think I was 215 lb after the weight loss and I want to say it felt amazing.

Believe me I was aware that I've lost the weight but I guess I couldn't fully comprehend how different I looked until I saw the reactions of my loved ones. I mean even my friends asked me for diet/workout advise, the way I changed my self shocked my friend, family and myself for many reasons:

A. I was living far away from home and everyone at the time since I went to school.

B. It's not just the weight I lost, its also the mussels I've gained. I've TRANSFORMED my self.

C. I did it in 10 months.

Life was much better. I felt great and it was great. I don't know what happened I just slowly gained the weight back just like that. One day I woke up and I am 300 lb. I keep asking my self how did I go from 34 inch waist to 50 inch without any alarms. How come not fitting in my clothes hasn't tipped me off ? How? I keep asking my self this lately, but you know what it doesn't matter! I've gained the weight and thats that. I have two choices: keep asking myself why and stay or increase my weight or Do something about it! right? simple isn't it? Here ladies and gentlemen where life teaches you a lesson. Simple Doesn't Mean Easy

I did it. There is no denying it in my mind, this means that I am capable of losing weight and a lot of it if I might add, no questions there. But why can't I do it any more? I've been in and out of the gym/diet since I gained the weight back and added a few more as a matter of fact. It's not that I don't know what to do or how, I actually know the secret formula of wight loss and it might shock you "Eat healthy and exercises" it can't be simpler but definitely not easy.

I want to be that guy again. Be that confident again. Go shop at any store where prices and my personal taste dictates my decision and not my size and availability. I would like to board a plan and not think about passenger praying to god I don't set next to them.

I remember when I first started I wrote this "Pro vs Con of weight loss" paper and had it taped to the mirror. I wrote down everything, It was embarrassing to a point if someone else read it. But I didn't care I pore my heart out and I was honest. I tried doing it again but I couldn't commit. The irony is when I first started I knew nothing about weight loss and lost so much weight and now I know what and how to a T but won't.

This whole rant started because I caught my self lying to someone that wasn't a friend or a loved one. We were talking and showed them a picture of my self in 2012 and claimed it was 2016. I lied, why? I felt like shit. It really came as a shock, am lying now? it was as if I was embarrass of who I am.

Life is too short to be lived in regret. I chose to change and I chose not to be like my old self but be my new self and better. I know I probably sound like spoiled brat at this point. Nothing is stopping me from changing but me. Nothing is forcing me to stay the same but me.

Rant done. Thanks for your time and consideration!

Truly,

aalhatla
