Does anyone else do this or am I just bad at relationships?
I've been trying to take better care of myself for the last month or so. (Just standard CICO dieting and exercising more than I usually do.) I haven't lost enough to where it's probably visibly noticeable, but I'm hoping to get there. I'm pretty open about this change in lifestyle with everyone...except for my girlfriend.
She's actually part of the reason I decided to lose weight -- this summer I tried to put on the shorts that I wore on our first date and was horrified to see that they didn't even come close to fitting anymore. I was skinnyfat when we met but even moreso now (pencil thin wrists with an abundance of tummy fat) and I'd like to just be skinny. I've gained probably like 30 lbs since we met a year or so ago and I want to take that off and then some. I'm just worried about how she may interpret my goals since she's always been shorter but still bulkier than me.
And I'm not using bulky as a euphemism. She's a lot stronger than I am LOL. I've never thought of her as "fat". She could probably lose weight but for the most part she just has a broader and more muscular build. I'm perfectly attracted to her the way that she is, in fact I tend to think she's better looking than I am, but I'm concerned that if she knows that I'm trying to lose weight then she'll feel pressured to lose weight herself.
We don't live together so it's been pretty easy to hide so far. But I recognize that it may not be sustainable. Maybe this question is better suited for /r/relationships, but I was just curious if this was a somewhat common issue in the community.
(throwaway because she knows my main account and boy wouldnt that be awkward)
