Worst fear - The food festival

Not just any old food festival, a coffee and chocolate festival!

Was planning my strategy all week. I have 1,700 calories a day.

Protein shake in the morning and that was about it.

Rocked up to the festival around 12:30pm so was keen for some lunch, expecting to have some junk or chocolate. I was mentally prepared as I still want to enjoy events like these.

Found a Paella stand in the middle of the hotdogs and burgers so got one of them. Tasted awesome! Only 550 calories! Then the wife bought me a made to order Canolli that I really didn't want to pass up as they're hard to get near me and literally a once a year opportunity, losing weight or not. It was fantastic! Logged... 200 calories... Better than expected. Usually I would've gotten 3 of different flavours but decided that I'm not going to enjoy two or three anymore than my first so was content.

Picked my favourite vibe of coffee roaster and enjoyed a latte. The good thing was because it was a coffee festival, the servings were small with the expectation to try many roasters. Had my one coffee and again was content.

Just looked around for the next hour, the kids got some chocolate but I was full and happy so didn't have any more.

All up with dinner I went 200 calories over for the day. I'll easily make that up over the next day or so. Walked away with a new confidence that I can have a good time and control my calorie intake at the same time.

Here's to more festivals in the future without the stress leading up to it! 🙂
