Like the title says, I started running today. I've gained almost 50 pounds in the last 2 years or so. I've tried dieting probably 15+ times now and pretty quickly give up every time. I'm hoping this time will be different but who knows. Anyway the running. My goal was to jog about 1.5 miles slowly but without stopping to walk, or for a few seconds at the very most. Well I wasn't able to do it. At all. I probably didn't run even half of the time. My legs were wobbling and felt like they'd give out, my chest was on fire and I overall felt absolutely awful. It took me a little over 20 minutes to go the 1.5 miles.
A few years ago I was somewhat athletic and could run a mile in about 7-7:30 but now I can't run a mile at all apparently. I guess trying is all I can do but I didn't even realize I was this out of shape and it's already extremely discouraging. :/
