I started keto in June as I thought it would give me fantastic mental health focus and clarity.
It didn’t. I really don’t think it’s for everyone. I have decided to do relatively low carb as I think that fits me but keto didn’t make me feel good and I honestly don’t feel that good eating that much meat and dairy. Side note I had a carb day yesterday I had crisps, jelly beans and a pizza....... and cue a huge crash- fell asleep at 8 and slept for 12 hours my boyfriend tells me I snored the house down too.
I’m not hugely surprised at this crash out obviously but wow I was ruined!!! Pizza and jelly beans aren’t my diet but can’t believe what it did to me.
I found out that you need carbs to help tyrosine and 5htp to cross the blood brain barrier. So I’m gonna try and find my sweet spot. I had a hard time with my brain chemicals on this diet which leads me to think it really isn’t for everyone.
