Is using a stationary bicycle for 1-2 hours nightly going to help me? Or should I do something else?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but the title sums up my question. I've decided recently that I'm going to lose some weight, which I should have done a long time ago. However, I'm not in the position to buy new equipment or a gym membership right now, and all I have at home is an old stationary bike. So I've been putting it to use for the past 5 nights, jumping on for anywhere from an hour to two hours while I listen to music, podcasts, or just watch YouTube videos.

Every night, I come back inside absolutely drenched with sweat, and I feel both disgusting and a little better each time. Maybe it's just a feeling, but will this help me in the long run with losing weight? Any other home workout tips on a budget would be super appreciated, too.

I'm going to hop on the bike right now, so I'll be checking on replies and such while I ride, wish me luck!
