I just really need to vent about this.
I'm a small woman. Very small. Like, 4'11 small (I like to round up to 5'0" just to feel better, but who am I kidding?). I'm 24 years old. It bothers me to no end how much harder it can be for smaller women to lose weight compared to taller women. My TDEE is just shy of 1200 calories. That's it! One calorie over and I'll gain weight. If I were five inches taller, I could easily accommodate over 500 more calories. Yes, I'm subbed to r/1200isplenty, but I'm not going to lie, it's HARD to keep it under 1200. That's very strict. No matter your height, even at 5'0" and under, that's tough. It requires constant calorie-counting. I'm sure (and I'm generalizing) that taller people can only strive to eat healthier, cut out sugar, cut out carbs, and still lose weight. No, I'm practically forced to count calories, even when I work out. That's three 400-calorie meals a day, no snacks, no caloric drinks. When I do finally get to my goal weight, if I want to maintain without exercise, I'll have to limit myself to 1200 a day. No snacks, no caloric drinks. It's not fair. Yes, I could (and I do) go to the gym, but I'm a student now, with ample time. How will I manage that with a full-time job? When I have kids? It just feels like a constant uphill battle, and one I'll have to fight for the rest of my life. It's not fair.
I know I'm generalizing in some regards. I'm just having a poor day, and this BS doesn't make it better.
