Do you believe the "you have a large frame so your goal weight would look terrible on you" argument?

29 year old 5'8 male currently 220lbs. Goal weight is 150lbs. I decided on 150lbs because that is how much I weighed when I graduated HS in 2007. I did not feel "too thin" and I remember I always felt great, had confidence, enjoyed life etc.

Weighing 150lbs at 5'8 would give me a BMI of 22.8 which is normal range. However when I told my doctor about my goal weight he instantly replied back, "150lbs? You would look sick!". Kind of caught me off guard and I have no idea how to process what he said.

I have a stocky build/broad shoulders. Anyone been in the same boat and how did it translate when you finally lost all the weight? Did you look "terrible"?
