I posted on here after losing about 25-30 pounds that I was feeling discouraged because no one was noticing my efforts. Not even my best friends or family, so I was feeling pretty down. You guys told me about the “toilet paper effect”. Boy, where you guys right. As of yesterday apparently everyone decided to notice. I really thought when people started to notice, it would motivate me and make me feel so good. For reference, I work in a busy salon, in a small town, where I see a lot of different people in one day. This is everything I heard just in the last 24hrs. Word for word, I wrote them down so I wouldn’t forget..
• “Wow you’ve really gotten small! What have you been taking?”
•“How much weight have you lost? You’re not starving yourself, are you?
•”how much more are you planning to lose? You’ll look sick!”
•”Does anyone want anything from the ice cream shop? I know u/bearzb33tzbattlestar won’t because it’ll ruin her diiiiiiiiiieeeet”
Overheard this one. • “Did u/bearzb33tzbattlestar lose weight? Hmm. Bet her husband’s happy.” (She has never even met my husband)
What the fuck with that last one? Why? Why do people feel so entitled? I honestly don’t get it at all. I am no where near being too thin. I’m still wearing size L clothes for Pete’s sakes!! I am nowhere near looking sickly. Ive been eagerly waiting for 6 months for people to start noticing my efforts so it’s been a huge let down. Now I just wish people would stop noticing and stop giving me their gdamn unsolicited, stupid, FA advice! UGH
